Success is a mighty word. Many of us run behind it; most of us want to conquer it. Success means different things to different people. Success is not about reaching from point A to point B. Every individual in this world wants to become successful, everyone wants a successful luxurious life but wanting success will not give you a successful life. There is a huge difference between successful people and unsuccessful people. Successful people never take success journey leniently. They know that anything worth never comes easy, Success is not as easy as unsuccessful people think. Successful people know that when you want something from life then you need to sacrifice something for it. Without sacrificing something in life nobody can reach the peak of success.

1. Winning Failures

Success is the process of achieving goals when a person follows the principles of success. One of the main principles of success is to embrace failure. Learn from failure, correct yourself and move ahead.

There goes an old saying, “To be a champion, fight one more round,” which is very accurate. Only tireless pursuit can create winners. Success comes to those who try and never tire. To be a winner, one has to learn to strive with perseverance, courage, and determination. Success cannot be achieved in a day. The road to success is narrow, rough, patchy, long, and full of hurdles and obstacles. One has to learn to overcome the hurdles and obstacles to achieve the desired goal.

A little failure does not matter. With each failure, one gets closer to success, and with each fall, one rises higher. Each failure brings one closer to success because within each failure is hidden a lesson on success.

FAILURE breeds success when failures are correctly handled, and actions are taken. The lives of all successful persons were beset with difficulties and failures. They become great and noble by fighting and overcoming those stumble blocks and failures. Those who succumb to the difficulties are destined to fail in life. This is why the proverb goes, “Failure is the pillar of success in life.”

2. Sacrifice is Compulsory

People desire many things in life but very few are ready to sacrifices for that. Those who want to lose weight do not want to sacrifice lavish foods, people who desire to improve fitness do not want to go to the gymnasium for fitness training regularly, students who aspire to make a great career do not want to learn the required knowledge and skills.

The bigger the sacrifices, the greater the success. Success requires sacrifice, one should be ready to pay the price for success. Many changes occur in the mind of the person during sacrifices. A lot of challenges are encountered and many stressful situations are faced during this testing time.

But sacrifices are directly proportional to improvement in determination, willpower, focus, hard work, discipline, and many more aspects of achieving the goal. If you truly want to reach another level of success in any area of your life, you will need to make extraordinary sacrifices to reach there. American author, Napoleon Hill said, “Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.” Thus, to achieve goals and dreams successfully, one needs to willingly sacrifice many things in one’s life no matter if they are big or small. There will be many hardships and trials along the journey to success. A successful man is prepared to SACRIFICE his time, money, power, energy, self-interest and personal belongings, and even life for the achievement of success.

3. Mental Strength Makes the Difference

Success is fifty percent in mind. Whether your goal is to become a great leader, a sports champion, a prosperous entrepreneur, or an efficient professional, mental strength plays a crucial role in long-term success. You are not born with mental strength, but rather it is a skill that you learn and develops during the journey of life. Like physical strength, some people could have more mental toughness based on knowledge, skills, experiences, and personality.

MENTAL STRENGTH is the ability of an individual to deal with challenges, pressure effectively, and stresses to present their best performance regardless of the circumstances. Mental strength requires you to balance your emotions and rational thinking to work together to make informed decisions that guide your behavior.

To have mental strength means you are aware of emotions and thoughts and work concurrently with them to choose your actions. In other words, mental strength is about responding, not reacting.

Mental Strength is the ability of a person to deal productively with the challenges, roadblocks, and pressures they experience in business and life. Having mental strength requires commitment, consistency in performing positive daily habits to make daily progress despite setbacks and failures.

Having mental strength allows people to take risks, take on new challenges, and cope with difficult situations and experiences. People with mental strength focus on the positives in their life and surround themselves with other people who are also mentally healthy.

4. Attitude is the Key

According to Zig Ziglar, American author, and motivational speaker, “It is your attitude, not your aptitude that determines your altitude.” Our attitude plays a big part in our day-to-day lives and can affect how our life may turn out in the future. If you have a good attitude, you will be the kind of person who works hard, is a believer in the fact that life is for living, and you will live the kind of life many would aspire to. On the other hand, if you decide to live with a negative attitude, always expecting the worst and never enjoying what you already have in your life, you will find that your inner choices will reflect on the outside.

When you talk about attitude, it comes down to a choice — it is in your hand to choose to have a good attitude or a bad attitude in yourself. No other things do matter.

The greatest obstacle toward achieving success in your life is the inability to believe that success is possible. Many do not have a complete sense of their belief, what they can or can’t achieve. They cannot see the greatness within, nor do they believe they can achieve whatever they put their minds to. This is a major reason that they do not set goals, for they do not believe they will ever achieve them. Their ATTITUDE affects their self-esteem.

5. Develop Essential Skills

Skills are nothing but our supporting weapons which help to protect, support, grow and make us successful. Skills make a person independent, enhance self-reliance, self-esteem, reduce stress, increase confidence and help one to stand out in the crowd, and ultimately make them successful in life.

Skills are incredibly powerful, and if an individual learns even one important skill properly, he or she can earn a livelihood and excel in life.

The problem is that people do not realize the immediate benefits of learning any skill. They only realize the value of skills when they face challenges later on. On realizing this, they are hurt initially and might even try learning a skill, and sometimes they might even try learning a skill. But most people discontinue learning due to several other priorities. This cycle continues for a long time. As they grow up, acquiring these skills becomes difficult day by day. They feel the difference of not having the right skills, but by that time it is too late to compensate for the lack. Nothing left but to repent why they did not learn those essential skills at an early age. Throughout life, they ultimately pay the price for it. One most essential skills for overall development is READING.

6. Action is Must

“Action is the Foundational Key to All Success.” — Pablo Picasso

This means that, in order to get anything done, you have to do something about it. Dreaming and hoping will not get you the success you’re seeking. Fundamental action has to take place, along with dreaming and hoping, in order to create success in your life.

You will find many people in the world who dream and plan and hope, but do not do the things that will lead them to their goals. To achieve your dreams, you need a foundation of action, built with planning. If you plan and take action there, are no heights you cannot attain. Success in anything starts with action. The action doesn’t have to be monumental or life-changing. The action can be small. Then, once you make that action a habit, try another action. Again, it doesn’t have to be monumental. Soon those little actions will add up. Those little actions will make your foundational key for SUCCESS.

7. Fueling Passion

“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” — Oprah Winfrey

Passion is a powerful emotion or desire, and a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something. Passion can drive people to achieve a miracle in life. It is an important factor in every single human being on this globe. Passionate people drive to achieve the goals in life and make the best out of every experience and never fail.

When you follow your passion there is no need to put any extra effort or, in other words, efforts become easier when you work with passion. People should always do what they love to do. There are many things people do but they don’t love it. Passion is an intangible thing that drives your inner force to do something different toward that. No one needs to be forced to do the things. Passion drives progress, which propels success.

Passion automatically creates the required motivation to do the work with full energy. The absence of passion in work makes temporary existence and in the long run, it is difficult to survive.

While characteristics such as strong values, ambition, intellect, talent, discipline, habits, etc., all contribute to success, following your passion can often make the biggest difference of all. Hence, you should always follow your passion because that is where your heart and soul are.
