The Man, The Myth, The Legend

In the world of professional basketball, few names shine as brightly as Kobe Bryant’s. But what set Kobe apart wasn’t just his natural talent — it was his almost superhuman self-discipline. Let me tell you a story that’ll make you question whether Kobe was actually part man, part basketball-shooting cyborg.

John Celestand, Kobe’s former teammate, once tried to beat Kobe to the gym. Arriving at 6:30 AM for an 11 AM practice, Celestand felt pretty smug. But guess what? Kobe was already there, drenched in sweat.

Determined to outdo Kobe, Celestand showed up at 5:30 AM the next day. Lo and behold, there was Kobe, already mid-workout.

The coup de grâce? After spraining his ankle during a game, Celestand thought he’d finally have his chance. He hobbled into the gym at 4:30 AM, certain he’d beaten Kobe this time.

You guessed it. Kobe was there, shooting in the dark.

Some say Kobe never actually left the gym. (Okay, we made that last part up, but admit it — it’s not that hard to believe!)
